Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust
The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance is a charity funded by the people of Thames Valley. The Air Ambulance started operating in June 1999 and is based at Grove Park, White Waltham, Maidenhead. The yellow Bolkow 105 helicopter carries life saving equipment together with one pilot and two paramedics. The Bolkow 105 has the capability to transport two patients, or a patient and relative, to hospital whilst they receive emergency treatment in the air.
The Bowling Club was established in 1747 and the green, which is behind The Castle restaurant opposite the Church, has been in use ever since. W.G. Grace, the famous cricketer, played at Hurst as a member of the London Club - and was not amused to lose the game!
St Nicholas Hurst Parish Church is located on Church Hill.
The Gospel Hall is located on the west side of Hurst Village in Whistley Green on the Twyford to Wokingham Road.

Reading Rambling Club is a friendly independent walking club which has been enjoying the local countryside for over 70 years. It also ventures further afield for long days out, weekends away and holidays abroad. Reading Rambling Club meet most Saturdays and Sundays for walks between 5 and 15 miles. The Wednesday Group meet midweek for walks between 3 and 8 miles and the Mountain Section spend weekends tackling longer walks in wilder terrain.
The primary concern of the Society is to protect the physical element and maintain the rural aspect of the area. It aims also to promote greater use of the village amenities and services and to encourage their expansion.
